Pet of the Week | Two black kittens search for home together – Santa Cruz Sentinel

Did you know that black cats like Ada and Rosalind struggle to find a new home? Unfortunately, some people have superstitions about black cats and often let them be the last to be adopted.

While Ada and Rosalind have beautiful black fur, there is nothing dark and spooky about them!

These two social butterflies were brought to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter by Oakland Animal Services when Oakland had an influx of kittens and needed help.

Volunteers wrote that these ladies are cute and cuddly. Ada and Rosalind even took part in a girl scout tour in the shelter and played with the whole group. Ada and Rosalind were happy to meet, play with their toys and let the children stroke them.

Because the two are connected, Shelter staff and volunteers want them to go to a home where they can live together. Meet Ada Lovelace and Rosalind Franklin at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter.
